Automatic weather station

at Tsuen Wan Shing Mun Valley in trial operation (7 December 2010)

             The Observatory has installed a new automatic weather station at Shing Mun Valley Park in Tsuen Wan (see diagram below).  The station is now in trial operation.  Air temperature and relative humidity data collected at the Tsuen Wan Shing Mun Valley station are transmitted to the Observatory's Headquarters through mobile telephone network.  Solar energy is used to power the station.  Members of the public can access the real-time temperature and relative humidity readings at the Tsuen Wan Shing Mun Valley station on the Observatory's homepage at
