Launch of New Version 2.1 of "MyObservatory" for Android

The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) launched a new Android version (2.1) of "MyObservatory" today (4 January 2012), providing enhanced weather services for people on the move. The new version featured the "weather warning notification" service. Users could also select the types of weather warnings to be received through the "MyObservatory" based on their preference. The personalized weather service "MyObservatory" has been well-received since its launch in March 2010. More than 1.4 million copies of the app have been downloaded and the total number of page views has exceeded 2 billion by end of 2011.
