HKO organized a visit to King's Park Meteorological Station
for the "Science in the Public" Campaign

Under the "Science in the Public" Campaign, the Hong Kong Observatory organized a visit to King's Park Meteorological Station on 28 July. The response of this activity was overwhelming, and registration was full within a short time. Although the mercury that day topped the July high, the very hot weather did not reduce visitors' enthusiasm a bit. Staff of the Observatory gave a detailed explanation to a packed audience of around forty visitors regarding the operation of meteorological instruments, automatic upper-air sounding system and radiation laboratory there.

"Science in the Public" Campaign is a large-scale campaign initiated by government bureaux and departments. Its aim is to promote, through a variety of activities, to the public the scientific work of partners and the application of science and technology in the provision of public services. Details of Campaign activities can be found at http://www.science.gov.hk.
