Observatory's staff often need to explain weather in Cantonese, such as hosting TV weather programmes and press briefings, answering enquiries from the public, etc. Accurate pronunciation and presentation skills in Cantonese are very important to them. The Observatory therefore invited the renowned radio announcer, Mr Chung Wai-Ming to host two workshops on Cantonese pronunciation and presentation skills for its staff in June. Attendees learnt much from Mr Chung's detailed explanations and superb demonstrations.
