Delegates of National Meteorological Centre, China Meteorological Administration visits the Hong Kong Observatory
Six delegates from the National Meteorological Centre (NMC), China Meteorological Administration headed by Yang Ruilin (Director of the Department of Human Resources and Education) visited the Hong Kong Observatory during 3 - 6 March.  Knowledge and experience in weather forecasting and warning services, marine weather forecasting, applied meteorology as well as training of forecasters, was exchanged.  Apart from visiting various facilities of the Observatory, the delegation also experienced shift duties together with the Observatory's forecasters.  Mr. Yang Ruilin commended the Observatory for its advanced facilities and user-friendly forecasting tools.  He also spoke highly of the weather forecasting and warning services provided by the Observatory that could meet well the needs of the public.  Staff of the Observatory also benefited a lot from the briefing by the delegation on NMC's work and the interaction with the mainland counterparts, enhancing the Observatory's staff's appreciation of the meteorological services in the mainland.
