  • Hong Kong Observatory signed Memorandum on Cooperation with Airborne Survey and Remote Sensing Center of Nuclear Industry

The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) and the Airborne Survey and Remote Sensing Center of Nuclear Industry recently signed a memorandum on cooperation to enhance the overall capability in aerial environmental radiation monitoring and nuclear emergency response of both organizations.

The Airborne Survey and Remote Sensing Center of Nuclear Industry is a professional scientific institution in the Mainland specializing in the application of aerial survey and remote sensing technologies in various exploration activities and nuclear emergency monitoring. The Center has also been designated as the "China National Airborne Monitoring Center for Nuclear Emergency", providing support in relation to aerial radiation monitoring and nuclear emergency response.

Through strengthening collaboration and exchange, HKO and the Airborne Survey and Remote Sensing Center of Nuclear Industry will take forward mutual technological development in various areas, including aerial radiation monitoring for the environment, aerial monitoring technologies during nuclear emergency as well as measurement inter-comparisons.
