Visiting Scientist speaking at the Observatory

Professor Ho Kai-ming visited the Observatory on 24 November 2009 and shared with our colleagues his views on the current energy crisis as well as his experience in applying frontier material science research results to increase the efficiency of solar power generation.

Prof Ho is the Distinguished Professor of the Iowa State University, USA and a senior physicist at the Ames Laboratory of the US Department of Energy.  He was granted the Materials Sciences Award in 1996 for Sustained Outstanding Research in solid state physics.  His inspiring talk allowed Observatory colleagues to view the issue of global warming and its mitigation in a wider perspective.
