To enhance public awareness of mountaineering safety, the Civil Aid Service joined hands with 16 government departments and non-governmental organizations to hold the "Mountaineering Safety Promotion Day" on 31 October (Sunday). As in the past years, the Observatory rendered full support to the activity by setting up booth and delivering talk to introduce weather phenomena which would affect mountaineering and hiking, as well as highlight the precautions under various severe weather conditions.
