The Hong Kong Observatory commissions an independent consultant to conduct public opinion surveys twice a year to gauge the public perception of the accuracy of weather forecasts and warnings and the level of public satisfaction with its overall service.
In the latest public survey conducted in October this year, the overall satisfaction level with the HKO's services had a mean score of 7.5 (out of 10), which is comparable to previous results.
Regarding the tropical cyclone warning services, about 90% of the respondents considered the recent services better or about the same as before.
