Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development visited the Observatory
The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So Kam-leung, JP, visited the Hong Kong Observatory on 4 August 2010. Mr So was briefed by the Director, Mr Lee Boon-ying on the core activities of the Observatory, including public and aviation weather services, radiation monitoring, seismology and time service. Mr So showed interest in the work of the Observatory and items including the monitoring and warning of wind shear at the Hong Kong International Airport, TV weather programme operations and the future direction of the Observatory were discussed.
