Around 20 members of the Sha Tin District Council and District Office, headed by the Chairman of the District Council Mr WAI Kwok-hung, SBS, JP, visited the Observatory on 4 November. Dr Lee Boon-ying, the Director, briefed the guests on the work of the Observatory. This was followed by a guided tour of the Forecasting Office, the Radiation Monitoring and Assessment Centre, the TV studio, the Earthquake and Time Services Division and the History Room. The councilors were much impressed by the Observatorys skillful application of science and technology in serving the public.
