Observatory sharing its experience on Early Warning System with disaster risk management officials of Asian countries
At the invitation of the World Bank, Assistant Director, Mrs. Hilda Lam, delivered a presentation on the early warning system in Hong Kong at the Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction Pre-Conference Workshop held in Incheon, Republic of Korea on 24 October 2010. Her talk covered the severe weather warning systems, effective warning dissemination and natural disaster preparedness in Hong Kong.
The Workshop was jointly organized by the World Bank and the National Emergency Management Administration of Korea and was attended by over 50 officials responsible for disaster risk reduction in a number of Asian countries. Mrs. Lam appreciated the opportunity in interacting with other participants with a view to enhancing disaster risk reduction in the region.
